Where do I find a roofing surveyor

There are several sources to locating a roofing surveyor but it can be a bit like finding a needle in a hay-stack.

Firstly, try Yellow Pages.  Many Chartered Building Surveyors will indicate this as a niche specialist area of expertise.

Next is the internet - a great source for information.  Regretfully you will probably be swamped with so many hits that are irrelevant or locate roof surveying services in America.

Try fine tuning and being more specific with your search terms. Try 'roof surveyors in Bath' for example if you live in Bath.

Try the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) who have a members list and often schedule any specialist areas each surveyor may have.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) have a similar database of members in your area who again may specialise in roofs but many will be only be concerned with new build..

Just remember to  try and avoid any roof surveyor who is linked to roofing company otherwise you may not be obtaining independent advice.
